Kitchens are one of the most expensive rooms in the house to renovate. If you’re unhappy with the look of yours it can be quite annoying that when you don’t have the budget to change it.

Luckily, there are a lot of great products on the market now that can give your kitchen the look you want for a lot less money. It just takes a bit of planning and some elbow grease.

Transform your floor

Changing the look of your floor can transform your entire kitchen. There are a number of options for redoing your floor. You can use vinyl flooring to cover the existing floor. Vinyl comes in a range of colors and patterns so you’re sure to find a style that you like. To make it even easier, you can buy vinyl flooring planks or tiles that you can fit easily yourself.

If you have ceramic tiles on your floor, you can also look at specialist tile paint to change the color. You’ll have to prep your tiles carefully, but if they’re unbroken and well laid, then the paint should make them look fantastic.

Wrap your countertops

You can pick up a new countertop relatively cheaply, but removing your old one and fitting a new one is beyond a lot of people’s DIY skills. Often, you will have to navigate around pipes, sinks, tile, and electrical outlets, so it’s not an easy job. Damaged and worn countertops can really bring your kitchen down. You can now get easy-to-fit vinyl wrapping that will completely change the color and style. Similar to the material they use to wrap cars, it is easy to cut and fit.

Concentrate on cupboards

Your cupboards and drawers make up a lot of your kitchen space. You can give them a new vibe by just changing over the handles and pulls to a new style. You can buy them for a few dollars each on a lot of online stores. If you’re wanting more of a transformation, you can use specialist cupboard paint to change them. It is designed to be used in kitchens and withstand frequent cleaning and cooking spills.

You can buy paint in almost any color and in a range of finishes from metallic to matt.

Replace your faucet

Old tarnished and rusty faucets can be replaced relatively cheaply with new versions. Go for something a bit different from the shiny chrome. Try and black, wrought iron style, or matt nickel for a bit of a change.

Look on online auction and sales sites to find some great prices on faucets that people are selling due to a remodel.

Small changes like new taps, electrical outlet covers, and light switches can really change the feel of your room.

Final thoughts

A kitchen is the heart of a home where you cook your favorite meals, but if the look of yours is making you sad then it’s time for a makeover. By using some inexpensive products, you can create a style that looks much more expensive than it really is.
