My Quarantined Valentine- A Round-Up of Fun, At-Home Activities

Hey yall!

As we all know, Valentine’s Day (just like every other holiday) may be looking a little different this year. We still aren’t completely comfortable with being out and about, so we’re having ourselves a little at-home, family Valentine’s Day this year.

Of course, 2020 and now 2021 are all about getting creative and figuring out new traditions, so this year we have 3 fun activities up on the docket:

1. Dunkin’ Donuts Create-Your-Own-Donuts kit

The kids LOVE helping in the kitchen, and this donut decorating kit seems like the perfect way to start the day! I even made the kids some personalized chef aprons and hats to make the morning even more fun! Visit your local DD for availability and price (we just happened upon it as we were ordering donuts one day!)

2. GAME DAY!

Our crew is all about playing and having fun together and playing, and any excuse for a Game Night is a good one! We received 3 fun games/activities to review, and I’ve been holding them hostage from the kids till Valentine’s Day so we could be sure to have fun all together! Here’s what we’ll be playing:

Magbuddies Sets

Step into the world of Max’s Playground Set, Maggy’s House Set, Milo’s Mansion Set, Minibot Kitchen Set and build your own amazing Mag City.  We already have this Magformers Police Set  that the kids are obsessed with, so this new set will be a hot commodity. We love the bright colors and how easy these are to play with for all of the kids! Collect all 4 and see what you can create.

Stick-O Cooking 16Pc Set

The Stick-O Cooking 16 Piece Set brings out your child’s inner chef. We just got a fun Food Truck that the kids have been hooked on, so I think this themed magnetic kit will be the perfect addition! It inspires kids to assemble and cook delicious foods including an egg, lollipop, candy, carrot, and more. The 16 Piece Cooking Set includes 2 Spheres, 2 Sticks, 1 Curve Stick, 1 Oval Stick and 1 Half Sphere. Plus, it’s for ages 18m+ so it’s perfect for the baby!

EXIT

This last one will be a special game for Anissa to play with me and Cele while the boys nap! She loves playing “bigger kid” games but doesn’t often get to with the little ones under foot! EXIT: The Game is a series of party games for up to four players that offers a unique, unforgettable gaming experience, perfect for Valentine’s Day fun! These games allow you to bring the excitement, intensity, and team spirit of an escape room to your living room. In each EXIT game, your team starts out locked in an imaginary room, or trapped somewhere. You must solve a series of riddles and puzzles in order to unlock doors and reveal new riddles. Each correct solution brings you to another riddle and eventually to freedom. EXIT is constantly expanding with new stories.

3. Take-Out and a Movie

This is already one of our family staples- Chinese from our favorite restaurant and a family movie, so it seems like the perfect way to round out our Valentine’s Day at home! Currently crowd-sourcing fun Valentine’s Day movie ideas if anyone has one to throw our way!

Proof of how much these kids love FOOD! 🙂

 XO,

Amanda
