Hey y’all!
So, after every baby, I inevitably enter the phase of self-loathing and doubt that can spring from growing a human in your body and then feeding a human with your body and all the changes that have to take place for that to happen. If it sucks once, it quadruple sucks after your 4th kid. Sure, I’m amazed by what my body has done and in awe of the little human that’s now attached to me, but it doesn’t make me any less aware of the fact that I look like a distant relative of my old self. This is even further compounded by everyone else who can “bounce back” in record time, leaving me feeling rather blob-like.
Luckily* (I say that loosely, of course), we are in the middle of a pandemic so I don’t have to see many people, aside from my family and students who love me unconditionally, even when I’m squishy. Unluckily, we’re in the middle of a pandemic so I can’t go to the gym like I normally would, and I honestly suck at at-home workouts. I was also home with Miggy for 6 months and decided to prioritize exclusive breastfeeding him over weightloss.
Now that sweet Migs is a year old, it’s time to get back to me! We’ll still nurse till whenever he is done, but I’m not too concerned if my supply drops because he’s getting lots of nutrients from food now.
So what am I doing to get my groove back (aka body) and what are my goals?
- Back to fully keto
- Working out 5 days a week at home (currently doing #mbf from BeachBody and loving it!)
- No sweets (THE HARDEST!)
- Intermittent fasting
All of this is what helped me get back into shape right after Andres turned a year old, so I’m hoping and praying it works again! I’m trying not to weigh myself or have a number goal. Instead, I have an idea of what I want to look like, and I know I don’t want to maintain my current look and feel, so I’m basically just hoping to improve. I want to improve my strength and endurance in workouts, as well.
On top of that, I’m trying to make a point of putting on a little makeup and doing my hair each day. Sounds silly but when I’m already prioritizing working out at 4:30 am and leaving the house by 6:15 with 4 small kids, putting on lipgloss and brushing my hair is honestly #winning 🙂
Stay tuned for progress! If I ever start feeling brave, I may post some before and after pics one day!

Amanda
