Hey y’all!
Class is back in session and between Anissa starting pre-k and me starting my 4th year of teaching, education is top of mind around here! Anissa is constantly wanting to read new books, practice her writing and drawing, and of course Tino wants to be a little shadow! I’ve been really trying to find more activities for them that include numbers and letters, and ways to incorporate what she is learning at school.
So, what perfect timing to hear about VTech and LeapFrog’s new offerings that help kids continue their learning outside of the classroom! We received two of their awesome new products, and of course I couldn’t keep them out of the kids’ hands long enough to even snap a good picture. Anything that lights up or sings WILL be ripped out of it’s box in 0.7 seconds!
DigiArt Color by Lights™
Anissa automatically took to this new toy and with minimal help from me, was able to get it rocking and rolling in no time! This color by lights system lets lights guide the way as your little one creates masterpieces! The light-up board identifies each of the 50 included coloring pages and responds by showing what color to use in each section- it’s AWESOME! No more fighting over what color goes where or trying to convince your kid that clouds aren’t red.
You can also download more pages online for unlimited printing and play. Connect the light-up dots to draw shapes, objects and animals. The art board features a dry-erase surface and a stencil card for more creative play, plus a variety of melodies to enjoy while creating your work of art. Color and create with light!
Ages 3-6 years, $21.99, Available Fall 2018
Go-with-Me ABC Backpack™
Anything backpack related and Tino is all over it! For whatever reason, he loves having a backpack on at all times! This hard-shell backpack is awesome because while it looks like a backpack on the outside, it’s hiding a world of fun inside!
Mr. Pencil and the Go-with-Me ABC Backpack™ is a one of a kind toy that lets toddlers interact with the alphabet in awesome ways. Using the write and erase board, kids can practice letter writing and drawing with Mr. Pencil. The screen shows how to write each letter step-by-step and then shows how to turn each letter into animals. Inserting the 26 letter pieces into the letter spaces teaches the letter name, letter sound, an animal that begins with that letter and more. Little learners can play seven different activities and when they’re done, the plastic backpack holds all the pieces inside.
Age 3+ years, $29.99, Available Fall 2018
V-Tech and Leap Frog have lots of other great educational toys coming out right in time for back-to-school and to help everyone feel like they are getting a great education, whether or not they are actually in school 😉 For example, V-Tech’s Starshine the Bright Lights Unicorn helps kids learn colors and shapes in English and Spanish while the Touch & Discover Sensory Turtle introduces textures, colors and patterns to stimulate senses and encourage fine motor skills. LeapFrog’s Learning Friends 100 Words Book lets kids explore new vocabulary with toddler-appropriate words while Storytime Buddy is an interactive friend for beginning readers. To see more about each of these great toys, check V-Tech out at https://www.vtechkids.com/ and LeapFrog at https://www.leapfrog.com/en-us/home!
Happy learning!

Amanda
