Friday Love List: May 19, 2016

Hey y’all!

It’s FRIDAY!!! WOO HOO! Only one more Friday in school till summer break- now that’s something I can get excited about!

It’s been a long few weeks and I have a feeling it’s going to be a long May, but these months are always the best and busiest for us. We have lots of birthdays, birthday parties, end of school celebrations, and preparations for vacation in the works, so coming up for air is not really an option in April or May.

Birthdays!

May should basically be called May Madness for us because it’s the month of birthdays for us! We have:

  • My sister-in-law, Jaclyn on May 9
  • Mr. R and his twin, Roly, on May 20
  • My dad on May 21
  • Me on May 23

So, we pretty much stay busy all month and that’s ok with me because I absolutely love birthdays and birthday dinners! I love everything about May because it just feels so festive 🙂

New camera

Y’ALL! Mr. R got me a new camera as a birthday/Mother’s Day present and I could not be more infatuated with it!! It’s the Nikon D5600 and has so many amazing features, including:

  • Bluetooth auto transfer to my phone via app
  • Extra lens
  • Lightweight
  • Touch screen

Walking to the Splash Pad

Our new ‘hood of Norcross, GA has a cute little splash pad within walking distance (about .9 miles from our house) which gives us a good excercise if we walk there and back. We’ve tried to walk either to Thrasher Park (same distance) or the splash pad almost every night for the past two weeks and Anissa and Tino absolutely love it! She starts asking where we are walking every day when I pick her up after school. Love this little tradition we’ve started! BONUS: I get to snap cute pictures like these with my new camera!!

Couture Cuts for Kids

We took Tino to get his first haircut last weekend (hallelujah!!) and found a really great place in Suwannee called Couture Cuts for Kids! It’s a small shop with just one hairstylist that rents out a suite in a bigger salon. She was so great and went above and beyond to make sure Tino was happy and having fun while she was a speed daemon with the scissors. We were so impressed and will definitely be coming back to see her when he needs his next cut!
