Hey ya’ll!
This weekend, we are celebrating Valentine’s Day and our 5-year-annivesary combined, and I’m so excited for our line-up. Here’s the plan:
Saturday:
- Facial
- Treat Your Feet
- Dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant
- Dessert at our Sweet Hut
- Sweep at The Aurora Theatre!
Sunday:
- Lunch at Fogo de Chao
I’m so so excited for all of these pieces that have and will continue to make up an awesome weekend with my love, but I have to stop and rave about Sweep A WORLD PREMIERE at the Aurora Theatre! We went last night, and not only was it a great date night, but the play was flipping’ awesome.
So what is Sweep? It’s a dramatically-funny and poignant time-traveling look at what being a female has been like since the creation of (wo)man. The creators of Sweep use a fantastic mix of multimedia and music to move it along as well as help enhance the sci-fi experience. The playwright Georgina Escobar, does a spectacular job exploring how humanity and woman-hood have evolved into what the are today, with many subtle and at times pointed moments that make the audience not only think twice about society’s norms but also laugh while doing it. The acting was terrific (I have to give it to Cody Russell for keeping me in stitches all night), and the talented actors (five total) kept us engaged and entertained from start to finish.
Sweep will be showing at The Aurora Theatre from February 10 – March 5, 2017. Tickets range from $20 – $30 and can be found here. Be sure to follow The Aurora Theatre on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on all the happenings!
*Note: There was some cursing so just beware before taking kiddos/tweens!
XO,
Amanda
Disclosure: I received free tickets to attend the Media Preview Weekend of Sweep at The Aurora Theatre in exchange for publicity, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
