Hey y’all!
Can you believe that Valentine’s Day is in 2 weeks?! Holy moly, that snuck up fast! So, this Valentine’s Day, I’m looking for the practical gifts- gifts that go above and beyond. Sure, chocolates and flowers are wonderful (can I please have some flowers and chocolates, Mr. R?!) but I’m looking for the practical gifts this year that everyone will love.
For baby:
With the cold weather, I am absolutely loving the Gunapod Wearable Blanket, which features the unique all around WONDERZiP® system for the easiest changing and temperature control to prevent overheating. It’s so so soft, and loose enough that baby can move at night and not get tangled (see Baby Tino tummy sleeping below). And, Gunapod® adheres to the strictest standards of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CPSIA, so I feel safe letting him sleep in it!
The Gunapod Premium Luxury Duvet also comes in a beautiful heart pattern, making it perfect for Valentine’s Day! Extra lush + snuggly, the new Luxury Duvet provides your baby with the ultimate sleep experience!
For the mamas out there, I am crushing over Chewbeads Perry Necklace in red. This silicone teething necklace is the perfect accessories for mamas like me who have little ones that like to chew on everything- name badge, silver necklace, shirt… the necklace really is a lifesaver! It’s also a fun toy for baby to play with while nursing, so you don’t get the dreaded finger in the nose- oh wait, just me?
For the Kiddos:
Dollar Spot Baskets
This is my plan for my kiddos this year! I found so much cute, cheap stuff in the Target Dollar Spot, ranging from stickers, to flashcards, to pencils, to light-up balls, that I was able to put together a cute little basket of knick-knacks (that will end up driving me crazy, I’m sure). The thing will toddlers and little kids is that 5 $1 items are going to make a bigger impact than one $10 toy usually, because, at least in my kids’ case, they are all about quantity over quality (LOL). Might as well use that to my advantage while I can!
Valentine’s Day Outfits!
I always love to get the kids at least one special outfit to wear on Valentine’s Day, and since I have one girl and one boy, I get to have double the fun shopping 😉 Check out how cute these outfits are!
For the Family:
Experiences
This is what we are focusing on this year! Because it’s our 5-year anniversary this March, we are planning to do it up this Valentine’s Weekend with experiences, and celebrate both holidays at once! Here are some of our favorite experiences as a family or couple:
- Massage/ spa day: Anyone that knows us knows that Treat Your Feet is our favorite place ever. $30 for an hour-long foot massage? YES, PLEASE! We also love facials, couples’ massages, and anything relaxing.
- Day trip/quick overnight trip: Some of our favorites around Atlanta include Stone Mountain’s resort, Chateau Elan, and Chattanooga. We love going down in the morning, spending a whole day there, spending the night and heading back the next day. As long as we are within 3 hours, it works out perfectly that we don’t even have to stop!
For Anyone!
Journal
There’s something about a nice, leather bound journal that just can’t be beat. Whethere you are big on writing down your thoughts and feelings or not, journals can serve so many different purposes. For example, Cele recently got a new journal for writing down his recipes, and is loving having a tangible notebook to keep nice and organized with his thoughts. I had a journal for planning our wedding that I loved and still have to this day!
Here are a couple I love: grey moleskin journal, Botanical Notebook, Peacock embroidered journal
What’s on your Valentine’s Day wish list?
XO,
Amanda
Disclosure: I was provided with free products from Chewbeads and Gunapod for my honest review, however all thoughts and opinions are my own. In addition, I use affiliate links in my posts.

February 1, 2017 at 6:52 pmI’ve always been intrigued by the necklaces but I’m not a fan of how bulky they are. Love the kid’s clothes!!!

February 1, 2017 at 7:07 pmI love that yoda shirt and the peacock journal! Such great ideas. My go-to is chocolates from our local ice cream and candy shop because as you say, those $1 spot items just end up broken so fast or drive me crazy! Thanks for the ideas 🙂

February 2, 2017 at 12:25 pmIt’s really soft (the Gunapod) and breathable! We’ve had other sleepsacks but this one is great because it has so many ways to open it (from the shoulder clips to the front and side zippers) so the baby doesn’t feel couped up!

February 1, 2017 at 11:06 pmI like that necklace! I am always afraid that something like that will break though. How is it made? Could it break? Nice roundup of ideas for the big day!

February 2, 2017 at 12:24 pmIt’s REALLY tough. The beads are silicone and they are kept together by a really sturdy string (not sure of the material). My 1-year-old was yanking on it and it has survived thus far (and he is strong!) LOL
