Hi everyone!
Baby R #2 aka Baby Tino aka Celestino Jr. is HERE! He is beautiful and healthy and happy.
Baby Tino made his grand entrance on New Year’s Day at 4:27 p.m., weighing 6 lbs, 10 oz and measuring 19.5 inches. He looks just like big sister and is seriously a dream baby (I better knock on wood with that one!) He’s in one heck of a sleepy newborn phase but when he is awake he is super alert and doesn’t make a peep. He wakes up to eat every 3 hours at night (or I change his diaper, tickle him, talk to him, turn on the lights, anything and everything to get this heavy sleeper to wake up!) and goes right back to bed.
He’s also become quite the nurser, which I was a little worried about at the beginning. For his first few days of life, he was SO sleepy that he wouldn’t even wake to eat, which made latching nearly impossible. I was pumping to make sure my supply came in, and then spoon or bottle feeding him. But since he is becoming more alert he has really taken to breastfeeding, and since I’m still pumping after nursing we’re doing great with supply, which is a lot more than I can say about nursing with Anissa! That was also due to the retained placenta with her though, and luckily, no such issues this time around!
So how’s big sister adjusting? Seriously, better than I could have EVER imagined! She is so in love with him and just wants to hug and kiss him all day long. My favorite thing is that she will see him and saw “AWWW, BABY!!!!” with a little squished face. It is just priceless. Again, knocking on wood, but there has not been any jealousy or issues whatsoever- let’s see how long that one lasts!
I’ll be sharing his birth story soon, as well as a post overflowing with precious newborn pictures from our newborn shoot this morning! For now, here are some of his first pictures from the hospital and his first few days of life.
XO,
Amanda
