*Review* Pickled Pear Tree Nursing Necklace

Hey everyone,

I’ve been pretty vocal about the fact that I am still breastfeeding Anissa, and plan on telling the whole story about our journey soon. So in the spirit of breastfeeding, I’ve aligned with several different breastfeeding companies, and you’ll be seeing a few different reviews here and there for products to do with breastfeeding, just because that’s really where my heart is at right now! I never imagined, given my situation and ordeal after having the baby, that I’d be able to breastfeed for 6 months, and I’m praying I can keep going for as long as Little (er- Not So Little) Miss wants to keep going, or until she has teeth 😉 But, if breastfeeding is not your thing, or you don’t have kids or, you know, your a guy, have no fear, this is not becoming a breastfeeding blog and I will still have lots of other cool giveaways, reviews, and posts that ya just might like, so please do stay tuned 🙂

So back to the post at hand and the reason for this whole breastfeeding introduction: one of the best products I’ve found for nursing so far is just smart beyond words, and I will tell you, Anissa loved it from the start. What is this magic product, you ask? Well, ladies and gents, it is a Nursing Necklace from Pickled Pear Tree, an adorable company who specializes in nursing and teething products for mom and baby!

I mean, isn’t the necklace just a beauty? I wanted to hear a little more about the company and their products straight from the owners, so I chatted with Tracy Bond, the shop’s owner, and her daughter Molly. Here’s what they had to say about the brand and their products:

“Pickled Pear Tree is a family company that started after my grand babies were born. My grandmother taught me how to sew as a young girl and I have sewn various garments for my children throughout my life. I’ve always wanted to start my own business to share my creations with others. I started making burp cloths, taggy blankets and race car playmates that are still available in my shop. My youngest daughter recently had a baby boy and has joined the babywearing community. She asked me to make her a babywearing accessory and together we designed our very own teething necklace.  Teething necklaces are excellent entertainment for babies to play with while being worn by moms and dads. They also help soothe the process of new developing teeth. The necklace is also great for nursing mothers and is a beautiful accessory to any outfit. We are proud to use 100% organic fabric and all natural maple wood beads and rings. We also make a 100% organic teething ring toy for babies to play with while not being worn.”

So, now, my review. I can attest to all of the uses listed above! When it first came in the mail, the baby happened to be spending the night with my parents, but the necklace matched with my outfit so I wore it as an accessory and got several compliments on it- no baby needed! I’ve also worn it while nursing and the baby absolutely loves it. She grabs on to it, plays with it, hits me with it…. luckily the necklace is very lightweight and soft 😉 It’s also great for my perpetually teething baby’s gums… I swear, one day she just might get a tooth! She loves chewing on the teething ring, and the organic fabric is just right on her gums. Big time bonus? Their products are so affordable, with the Nursing Necklace available in tons of fabrics for only $20. That would make a perfect baby shower gift…. hmm, I just gave myself an idea 😉

All in all, I lovelovelove this necklace, the company, and the lovely ladies that pour their hearts and souls into every product they sell in their etsy shop.

Take a peek at The Pickled Pear Tree and tell me what your favorite item is? Which do you think your baby would like most?

XO,

Amanda

That looks like, by far, the prettiest and neatest teething necklace I have seen! I love the combo of fabric and wood rather than the silicone ones I have been seeing as of late!

This is a super cute teething necklace. I wish I had one when my youngest was smaller. Of course, they started becoming super popular the last year or so.
