Hey everyone!
I figured since my last Bump Date had been at 27 weeks, a random 31 week bump date seemed fitting! And, because I am feeling truly unoriginal, I decided to borrow this cute little questionnaire from one of my favorite bloggers (who is also due with a girl on April 30!)
But before we begin, let’s talk about the fun that awaited me on our 31 week Bump Day! I won’t say this was our first “scare” because let’s face it, I haven’t gone into details before, but the whole first trimester was pretty freaking scary and filled with ups and downs. But we’ve had a super smooth second and third trimester, so this little hiccup kind of worried us. But I will preface the story with EVERYTHING IS FINE! 🙂 Anyway, on Tuesday night I was having LOTS of Braxton Hicks contractions. I’d been having them more regularly, but that night I think I had 10 in one hour (you’re supposed to call the doctor if you have any more than 4 in an hour!) So I called around 10:30 p.m., and they advised me to rest and if they were still bad the next day, to call for an appointment. When I woke up the next day, they seemed fine, so I went to work… where they got worse. I went home to work from home around noon, and they would be fine when I was sitting or laying in bed, but the minute I stood up I’d have one! So I finally called the doctor around 3:45, and they advised me to come in immediately (she litterally set an appointment for 10 minutes later, and it’s at least a 15 minute drive to get there!) The urgency in her voice coupled with the question of if I had someone to drive me to the doctor really made me anxious. So I got there and they hooked me up to a fetal monitor and a monitor for my contractions. They did a test to see if I’d go into labor in the next 2 weeks (it was negative!) and checked to see if I was dilated at all (I wasn’t!) Basically, she said some people just have really bad BH contractions- lucky me! But I’m glad to know Baby Girl has at least 2 more weeks of cook time (and hopefully a full 9 more!) Mr. R has now banished me from doing anything… I can’t even wash the dishes because he’s worried it will send me into early labor! What a cutie 😉
Now back to my Bump Day questionnaire and a picture. I will let you in on a secret that this picture is from 30w3d because the picture I took this morning definitely looks like I spent the evening hooked up and being tested- it ain’t pretty!

How far along: 31 weeks, 9(ish) left to go!
Gender: Girl 🙂
Weight gain: 23 lbs.
Maternity clothes: All the time. Still wearing non-maternity skinny jeans with a belly band, but all shirts are maternity or else I get a nice little peek-a-boo tummy action going on
Stretch marks: Not yet, knock on wood!
Belly button in or out: Flat- as in, in between in and out. Weird…
Sleep: Sleep’s been pretty good. My arms fall asleep and I’ve been having a lot of Braxton Hicks at night, but I only get up to pee once per night so I can’t complain!
Best moment this week: Washing one tiny first load of laundry, including a sheet, some swaddle blankets and a few tiny outfits 🙂
Miss anything: Margaritas and sushi
Movement: I feel her all.the.time!! Sometimes, I lay down just to feel her move! It’s the best. The nurses at the doctors office yesterday all commented on what a happy and active baby she was 🙂
Cravings: Nothing really…
Rings on or off: Sadly, hanging around my neck. My poor sausages couldn’t take it anymore
Queasy or sick: Just some heartburn every now and then
Looking forward to: Our baby shower this weekend and seeing lots of friends and family! 🙂
XO,
Amanda
