Ok ya’ll,
I promise this isn’t going to turn into a baby blog, but I’ve just been bursting at the seams to tell you all our happy news, so I figured I could share an update every now and again 🙂
First of all, I’ll let you in on a fun activity we do called Bump Day pictures. Nothing fancy and I don’t have a cute chalkboard or anything, but we’ve been documenting the bump since week 4, so I have a whole compilation of Bump Day pictures built up already! We move on to the next week every Wednesday, so that’s usually when we do all the fun stuff like weekly pictures, all my apps send me a little update, and we write in our pregnancy journal. So, basically, Wednesdays are the best days ever.

I also wanted to add in this little gem, because I thought it was hilarious. This is the view from the bump yesterday while I was working from home (in my bed, of course!)
So what else is new in Week 13? Well, I am pumped as heck to be out of the first trimester! I mean, anyone who has ever been through it knows it is the longest, scariest, craziest time in pregnancy. You can’t tell anyone besides close family (well, that’s really an individual choice), the risk of something going wrong is much higher than later in pregnancy and your body is going through all these funky changes and feelings. Luckily, I didn’t have much morning sickness (other than feeling hungover for 12 weeks) but once you get out of the first trimester, all that *should* settle down. Plus, it’s just fun to be able to let everyone know now! I felt like I showed really early, so it’s been a struggle to find clothes that hide the bump without making me look *too* homeless… though some days I just settled for homeless.
Other than that, things have been good and we are just coasting along! We have a home doppler (thanks t our awesome friends Zach and Cristina!) so we love listening to the baby’s heartbeat every morning and every night (and I love talking to the baby, even though Mr. R thinks I’m nuts, and the doctor confirmed by saying the baby can’t hear yet- whatevs!)
We’ve also gotten to see our little guy or gal a lot on ultrasounds! We had one at 5w6d, another at 7w2d, another at 9w6d and the most recent at 12w. It’s so crazy to see how much they change and grow, and by now he/she is already flipping around and kicking and waving! We are just so in love already.
Anyway, just a little peek into the pregnancy thus far- here’s to a quick and easy second trimester!
XO,
Amanda
