Hi everyone,
If you’ll remember, I’ve already written about my summer reading list… so why am I writing again? Because I’m out of topics to write about? No, because I went through my list too quickly and am ready for a new round of books!
So what’s up on Part 2 of my summer reading list? Check it out below!
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
This book was recommended to me by my friend, Caitlin. She’d come into work every day while she was reading it and tell me all about the twists and turns (never the details, so I could read it for myself, of course!) From what she said, I’m in for a good ride here! It starts as with a murder mystery, pulling you in on the investigation to find out what exactly happened to the main character. You don’t know who to believe and you’re suspicious of what the characters are hiding everything… and there is a huge plot twist that kept Caitlin intrigued for days!
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I’ve already written about how much I want to read this book, and I’ve already bought it, so it’s definitely first on my list. From what I hear, it’s a new series a la Hunger Games minus the love triangle… but come on, love is my favorite part of any story, so will it stand up to Hunger Games? Only time will tell…
The Wolf of Wall Street by Jordan Belfort
I found this gem on a list of books to read before they become movies- well, in this one, the movie preview looks amazing, so I thought I should probably read the book! The basic synopsis is that a young guy (Leo DiCaprio in the movie) makes $49 million in one year, and then goes crazy partying and spending it. Of course, it all comes crashing down at some point, so be prepared for that!
Serena by Ron Rash
Again, this was a gem I found on the list to read before the movie comes out. The movie is going to star one of my favorite on-screen couples, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, but the book is a thriller that follows newlyweds George and Serena Pemberton on their journey to create a timber empire and ruthlessly kill all who fall out of favor – yikes! When Serena finds out some unfortunate news, all hell breaks loose. I need to read the book, because I can’t wait for the movie!!
Which of these books sounds like something you’d most like to read? Anyone have any good suggestions to add?
XO,
Amanda

July 29, 2013 at 3:12 pmOh, my. I miss reading. Having the time to sit down and read was one of the things that I lost out on when I quit smoking. 🙁 I’d be more likely to read Gone Girl.
