Many a time we have driven right past a place called Sugar Shack in Brookhaven. With such an enticing name and my sweet tooth yearning to find out what was inside the Shack, it’s a wonder we didn’t “happen in” sooner! But, one day, a co-worker of Mr. R’s recommended we stop in, so he surprised me after work and there we were… staring at the rows and rows of cupcakes, brownies, bars, cookies, pies, cakes and more. Since that “chance encounter” we’ve been back many.many times. Keep in mind, this love affair only started about three weeks ago, so it’s been a whirlwind relationship, much like ours 🙂
As I mentioned, Sugar Shack has EVERYTHING. They have sandwiches, coffee, beer, soups and more, but the real draw is the dessert. They weren’t dubm when they came up with this name! Check out some of these tasty pictures from their Facebook page.
So far, we’ve (collectively) tried the following items:
Dessert:
- Magic Bar: Think sweetened condensed milk, almonds, coconut and chocolate chips, in a graham cracker crust. Magical.
- Lemon Bar
- Assorted cookies
- Chocolate Pretzel cupcake
- Blondie
- Maple bacon muffin
Lunch:
- Grown up Grilled cheese
- Cuban Sandwich
EVERYTHING we have tried so far is pure amazingness. We love.love.love this place, no joke. The prices are reasonable ($2.50 for a cupcake, $2.95 for the bars, $.50 for cookies) and the portions are really big. Plus, the atmosphere and ambiance are just really nice, so we like sitting and enjoying our desserts there. It has an awesome coffee shop vibe, and now that the Spring/Summer are coming, I’m sure we’ll enjoy more than one afternoon on that patio.
For those of you in the Atlanta area, I force urge you all to visit- NOW! Here’s Sugar Shack’s Facebook page so you can find the address, hours and more. But when you’re addicted, don’t say I didn’t warn ya!
Enjoy!

April 18, 2013 at 5:54 pmLooks awesome! But $2.50 for a cup cake…is that a normal price? 50 cents for a cookie is a really good price!

April 19, 2013 at 12:09 amI LOVE local finds that turn out to be gold mines! I’d love to visit Sugar Shack. In response to the previous commenter, $2.50 is a great price for a specialty cupcake around here in Northeast TN. I’m surprised that Atlanta cupcakes are comparatively priced!
