Wedding bells + Walmart + a giveaway

Hola brides-to-be and bridal dreamers, this one is for you!

If you’re getting to the 11th hour in wedding planning and your honeymoon is so close you can feel the sun rays on your back, then you’ve probably got every last detail of your big day covered. But what if you don’t, and you still have a few little items to check off your bridal checklist, like toasting flutes, ring bearer pillows and more? I know we spent hours and days on Etsy and DIYing little touches that I loved, but ended up costing way to much and/or taking up too much time! You can see all of our DIY touches here and a few below.

Well, in case you don’t have the time or want to add any stress trying to DIY things, did you know Walmart is a great stop for some of these items? That’s right, don’t worry that pretty little head of yours about trying to DIY each aspect of the wedding. Sure, it’s fun, but when it comes down to it, you need these things for your wedding, and you need to keep your sanity! I wish I had known everything they had to offer!

And another thing about Walmart- they shouldn’t just be your go-to for last minute items. Did you know they even sell engagement and wedding rings? In fact, they just released their Engagement Survey which demystified the perception that two months’ salary is the appropriate price for a ring and found that nearly 60 percent of Americans surveyed think that less than $2,000 should be spent on an engagement ring. Well, Walmart has rings from just $58 up to $698, (and might I add they are really pretty?!) so if you are on a budget, you know where to look! Here’s a little more about the bling selection at Walmart:

  • The Forever Bride Collection, with engagement rings starting at $58, uses multi-stone diamond designs to create the illusion of a larger diamond. Forever Bride rings are set in 10K yellow or white gold, or sterling silver and range in carat size 1/20 to 3/8 carat T.W.
  • The Always & Forever Platinaire Collection, with engagement rings starting at $98, features 1/12 – 3/8 carat T.W. diamonds set in a blend of sterling silver and five percent platinum.
  • The Keepsake Collection, with engagement rings starting at $168,features 1/10 – 5/8 carat T.W. diamonds set in either 10K or 14K yellow or white gold, or sterling silver.

Another little known secret about Walmart? They have wedding cakes, too! And weren’t we juuuuust talking about the perfect wedding cakes last week, here? They sell white and chocolate cakes with lemon, strawberry, Bavarian cream or raspberry icing, and they come in two or three-tier options. The prices are super-reasonable, and they come in three classy styles:

Walmart has graciously offered to host a $50 gift card giveaway here! Even if you aren’t in the market for wedding things just yet, everyone loves Walmart! So make sure you enter before it’s too late. This giveaway will end Wednesday, 3/20, so enter, and enter FAST!

What an eye-opening article! Although I’ve been happily married for more than a quarter of a century, I know many young ladies and gentlemen who would really appreciate this information. Great job, Accidental Mrs.!

I’m trying to remember back to almost 15 years ago…I can’t think of anything that we needed to pick up last minute except to rent a wedding arch as something happened to the one at the place we were getting married at.

    Thanks for the fun contest!
