Hi everyone!
One of Mr. R and my favorite things to do is watch movies. I’m not kidding… Netflix, On Demand, RedBox, going to the movies, DVDs… we are ALWAYS watching a movie! There’s always the great debate of should we watch a chick flick, a guy movie, or could we actually find a movie that fits both bills? So, behold, a list put together by none other than my Mr. R, of some of my favoite chick flicks that he actually gets a kick out of, too! These are some of our favorite date night movies – movies that girls love and guys will enjoy.
1. Pitch Perfect
This movie is funny, witty and features tons of up-to-date songs that will keep you both humming for days. There’s a great chemistry between the lead actors which kept me wanting them to fall in love, yet it wasn’t over the top enough to classify this as a RomCom.
2. Burlesque
Again wiht the singing- sorry!! Burlesque has a nice production value, great rythmic editing and scantilly-clad women dancing all over the place, which will keep the guys entertained.
3. Bridesmaids
Talk about funny! Bridesmaids kept us both in stiches! With a well written script, a hilarious cast and just the right amount of raunchiness, this is a date night hit, for sure! And, although it’s all about weddings, it has enough other stuff going on to help your guy forget about the dresses and showers 😉
4. Babymakers
This one is not as big of a blockbuster as the others, but is hilarious nonetheless. It’s from the guys who made Super Troopers (that should be enough to get your guy interested), and although it’s all about trying to make a baby, the jokes get a little crazy and the plot definitely keeps it interesting! Plus, it has Olivia Munn in it, and she is in yoga pants or a swimsuite in several scenes. ‘Nuff said for the gentlemen. This is a Netflix must-watch!
5. Princess Bride
Need we explain why we love Princess Bride? First of all, this movie is a classic and should be seen by everyone. But the amount of love, humor and sheer silliness of the film make this an enjoyable date night choice.
6 . How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Any wguy that watches this movie with his lady will be thanking his lucky stars he isn’t with Andie Anderson after this movie is over, so let us suggest this movie for anyone who wants to feel very special and loved afterwards. All kidding aside, Kate Hudson does such a great job acting like a looney in this movie that you two will enjoy this flick, no questions asked! Every guy I have talked to about this movie has loved it… and they can’t all be wrong!

Just as with many other aspects of life, watching movies has moved into the online world and lots of online movie watchers wouldn’t have it any other way. There is certainly a sense of nostalgia in going the video store route for many people, but the reasons to watch movies online just seem to keep piling up.,
