Say what? You heard right! The Accidental Mrs. will be hosting a screening event in Atlanta of the movie Bless Me Ultima. Why? Because the movie is not opening in Atlanta (yet) but they still want to get the word out about such a good movie in an influential area.
This is a serious teaser only post; the date and time will still be determined, but once I get those locked in, you’ll be the first(s) to know! I was just SO excited, I had to share a preview now! I’ll have a dedicated website where anyone who is interested can RSVP. Deetz to come!
So what is Bless Me, Ultima? “This is a new movie based off of a novel by Rudolfo Anaya. Bless Me, Ultima is about Antonio Marez, who is six years old when Ultima comes to stay with his family in New Mexico. She is a curandera, one who cures with herbs and magic. Under her wise wing, Tony will test the bonds that tie him to his people, and discover himself in the pagan past, in his father’s wisdom, and in his mother’s Catholicism. And at each life turn there is Ultima, who delivered Tony into the world and will nurture the birth of his soul.” Check out the trailer below:
The official site for the movie is http://www.blessmeultima.com/ and you can find them on Facebook and Pinterest, as well! I, for one, am very excited about the opportunity to host a screening of this all-Spanish cast and crew movie, and can’t wait to share more details with you all!
