Hey everyone!
You may remember one of my earliest posts was about Date Night ideas. Well, check it out for our first round of date night ideas if you missed it, because I’m adding a Round 2 to it below!
The idea of planning a date (for either the man or the woman) should NOT be a daunting task! There are so many fun things to do together that span the spectrum of free to cheap to “fancy”. So, below Mr. R and I have come up with our favorites!
Enjoy, and let us know which is your favorite!
Start a new series
You can find shows like Dexter, Game of Thrones, LOST and more on Netflix or online for free.
Dessert taste-testing night
We were lucky enough to take part in a taste test for Sift! dessert company, but you can DIY the idea by picking up slices of different pies, cakes and cupcakes from a local bakery. Add some wine and maybe even candles, and voila!
Β Dress up for dinner at a new restaurant
Pick a place you’ve never been. Maybe it’s been a suggestion, maybe it’s somewhere you pick off of Google. But take a chance, get dolled up, and you’ll probably like what you find!
Cuddle up and reminisce
Our wedding photographer, the AMAZING Miss Kelly Hornberger, sent us a sweet package when she sent us our wedding pictures. The gift included a bottle of wine and a throw blanket, with a note to “cuddle up, relax and enjoy our pictures.” What a sweet idea, and lovely date night!
The Atlanta Botanical Gardens
This one might need to wait till it warms up a bit, but the Atlanta Botanical Gardens has been one of my and Mr. R’s favorite dates. We both claim it’s where we knew we loved each other π It’s not too pricey, with tickets at $18.95, and the atmosphere and QT that you will get out of a day there is well worth it!
Go out for drinks!
Dress up, put on some heels, and head out to a hotel bar or somewhere you wouldn’t normally Β go for some cocktails.
Karaoke!
Never tried it? Neither have we! But I definitely think it’s a fun idea that I’d love to try with Mr. R!
Find a food truck park
Most big cities have food truck parks or areas that the food trucks come out once or more a week. We hit up the Food Truck park in Atlantic Station here in Atlanta and sampled the fare from several trucks (though be warned, food is not as cheap as you may think!) The authenticity and taste are definitely worth it, though!
Catch a double feature
This date night is not for the faint of heart, but rather for the daring, rule-breaking, thrill-seaking couple. Just kidding, but it is for those who aren’t afraid to break the rules every now and then. Go see you favorite movie, and once it ends, head to the “bathroom” and check out what other movies are about to start. Then, sneakily plan your next move and head to a second movie. Try not to get caught! You can end up having a 4-hour date at the movies for the price of a 2-hour date. Movie prices are too high anyway, right?
