Happy 2013!!

Good morning everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I’ll be the first to admit, 2012 is going to be a hard year to beat. First and foremost, Mr. R and I got married in 2012, so that’s a pretty big life changer to try and top. I can’t thank my parents, my in-laws, my siblings, my new sibling-in-laws, and all the rest of our friends and family for everything they did to make our engagement and wedding the most perfect time of our lives.

In 2012 I also started The Accidental Mrs., which has been a HUGE project and accomplishment for me. I’m very proud of how far my little blog has come since I first posted in July 2012, and am so happy with the opportunities it has afforded me so far. I am so looking forward to what the future holds for my little online outlet.

I also switched jobs in 2012, and made a big jump in the PR world from agency to in-house PR. This has been such a great move, and I love my job, co-workers, and the overall spirit of the company. I truly feel blessed to have landed this job and be where I am now.

With the passing of 2012, another year of living apart from my family passes, which means we have gotten to see each other and make some great memories each time. This year, we saw each other three times in three different locales. how trendy and travel savvy of us! first, we were together with my grandmas, aunts and uncles and extended family in March in Houston for our wedding. Then in June, they came to visit for a few weeks in Atlanta, and Mr. r and I flew to Phoenix to spend a Thanksgiving with them most recently. Hopefully this three-times-a-year business will end soon, but you can read more about that in the “what’s next in 2013” section.

And of course, the most recent event of 2012 is getting to go to Cuba with my husband’s family, to see where his parents grew up, where his aunts and uncles and grandparents still live, and to get to meet these amazing relatives of his that I had not yet gotten to meet. To top it all off, we got to be the with my in-laws, Mr. R’s twin brother, his wife and their two cuties, so that just sweetened the trip!

So what’s next in 2013?

Babies! Well, it’s not quite what you think. We just have a lot of friends and family having babies early in 2013, and I can’t wait to meet each and every one of the new little boogers!

Possibly the most exciting part of 2013 for me, and this is a big fingers-crossed type of thing, is the impending move of my family from Phoenix to Atlanta. Oh boy, I can’t even begin to describe, without welling up with tears, what that would mean to me. I have been living far for far too long, and granted, it was by my own choice into take a scholarship far from home and continue my post-grad career in another  city, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still hurt. I know how much we would all love it, and they are trying to make it happen, so we are all crossing fingers and toes.

I also hope 2013 brings big things for The Accidental Mrs., or at least just continues as another good year for my blog! I have already had so many opportunities in the past 6 months since I started, and can’t wait to bring my readers more pictures, stories, reviews, giveaways and opportunities

Another exciting door that has opened for Mr. R is an amazing position within AT&T at their headquarters here in Atlanta. He starts as their Sr. Media Post-production Specialist this month, and I can’t wait to see him grow with the company.

I can’t wait to see what the new year holds for me and my family, but have definitely loved 2012, too. I wish all my readers a safe and happy new year. Let’s do this, 2013!
