Hey yall! Remember when I told you all about a great event I had been invited to by Macy’s in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month? Well, if not, you can catch up here. The event was also meant to honor Carlos Santana with the 2012 Style of Icon award, which is a huge honor!
The event was this past Saturday and was SO. MUCH. FUN! I seriously had a great time. First of all, the space was awesome. It was held at Lenox Mall in the shoe department of Macy’s, and they did such a great job of transforming the space. There were rows and rows of seats for all the attendees, which included media, bloggers, photographers, guests and shoppers. What an awesome, attentive group of Latino men and women. There was also a stage for the three panelists (we’ll get to them in a bit!) and a runway, as the majority of the show was a fashion show.
The panelists, who included a local TV personality, a make-up artist and a fashion professor, had a panel discussion, gave the latest fashion tips and trends, answered questions live and from the Twitter feed. They also each styled all of the looks seen at the show. So you know when you see the pictures below, each of the models was wearing Carlos Santana shoes. They are amazing, stylish, bold and fun… AND affordable!
In the picture below, you can see the panelists, live Twitter feed (Hey- is that The Accidental Mrs. Up there?) and four of Carlos Santana’s awesome shoes. I personally love the black pumps with the silver heel!
In the next picture, you can see more of the looks and shoes the stylists put together. Loving those Carlos by Carlos Santana Ringo Tall Western Boots… and for only $225, thinking they may go on my Christmas list! Also, I may note that Macy’s did a great job of finding some b-e-a-utiful Latina models from a wide array of countries.
The host of the event was Mariela X from Univision 34. She was a great host and moderator, and kept an attentive audience as you can see below 🙂
After the fashion show and Q&A, we watched a video in honor of Carlos Santana and got to check out the shoe collection for ourselves. Attendees were gifted a Santana keychain just for trying on shoes, and his new CD with any purchase!
