How-To: Fondue Date Night

Hi yall!

So, you all remember how much Mr. R and I LOVE to have date nights, right? Remember this masterpiece? Well, if you remember, I listed Fondue Night as one of my favorites! So as soon as we found out I’d have to go to Orlando for a week, my sweet hubby decided to surprise me with a Fondue Date Night to send me off full and in love (awww, how cheesy am I?!)

Below you can check out a step-by-step of how we like to do date nights. Ok- the first one is just a lovey dovey pic, but after that one, is the step-by-step.

First- here are all the ingredients we used in the fondue:

– Cherry tomatos

– Brocolli

– Sweet Peppers

– Potatos

– Mushrooms

– Carrots

– Pork

All the ingredients for fondue!

The, we had to actually make the fondue! We made the Coq Au Vin Fondue from the Melting Pot because we love it so much!

Here’s the recipe for it:

Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups vegetable stock
1/2 cup Burgundy wine
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 green onions, sliced
Directions:

1. Heat vegetable stock in fondue pot until it begins to simmer.
2. Add all other ingredients, bring to simmer.

Once you are done making the fondue, you can get everything set up (veggies on one plate and meats on the other of course!)

Here’ how our final table setting turned out! All ready for fondue date night!!

Once you are all ready with the food and all set-up, you’re ready to eat! Chicken and pork take 3-5 minutes to cook, and potatos and carrots take about 5 as well. The rest, zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes and peppers, only take a minute or two.

P.S. Fondue pairs well with a nice white wine. Just saying.

ENJOY!!

Amanda
