Hi everyone!
I hope it’s not telling of my future that my last post was 2 weeks ago on my first day of work, but MAN have I been busy with absolutely ZERO time to blog!
What I didn’t know on that first day of work was that in my first 2 weeks at RaceTrac, I’d be actually WORKING at a RaceTrac gas station for two weeks! This is what they call “Store Training”… each employee has to go through at least 2 weeks of doing everything an associate or manager does in a store. So I did my first week here in Atlanta, and was flown to Orlando for the second week. I think this is a GREAT program that RaceTrac does, because boy did I learn a lot and gain a whole new respect for everyone that works at a gas station.
Here’s me on my first day of store training 🙂
So, that explains my lack of blogging lately. I worked 6 – 3:30 everyday, and was POOPED by the time I got home, not to mention trying to do other things that come along with a new job, like setting up benefits, getting acquainted with the team, etc. Seriously, this store training business is serious! I had to sweep the parking lot, shine trash cans, work the cash register (selling lots of lottery tickets, beer and cigarettes)… being on my feet for 9 1/2 hours each day with no bathroom or lunch breaks was rough!
But I could not be more excited to get back into the groove of things now that I’m back, and begin my REAL work with RaceTrac!
Here’s to new beginnings!
Amanda
