Hey yall!
Since it’s Friday, I’ve got date night on the mind! If you are looking for some cheap / free date night ideas, look no further! I’m putting together some of my favorite date ideas here, and most of them are TOO easy not to try!
Do you have a favorite idea that I’ve missed? I’d love to hear about it and add it to the list!
Patio Dinner
Take dinner to a different setting by eating out on the back patio with a glass of wine or a beer. By simply switching up locations and taking it outdoors, you get a whole new feeling and really make your typical dinners into a date. But hurry up on this one before it gets too cold!
Movie marathon days
We have had so many of these and I can literally say it is one of my favorite things to do with my hubs. This date works best on a Saturday or Sunday where you have literally nothing to do. Put your phones up in a drawer, make a line-up of your favorite DVDs or bad movies on your Netflix Instant Queue, and watch them back-to-back-to-back. If each of you pick every other movie, it also makes for a nice competition too, of who can pick the best / worst movies. This date works well with Junk Food Marathon date, too. Only take a break from movie watching to order a pizza or go put the half-eaten carton of ice cream back in the freezer.
Fondue date night
Fondue date night is one of my favorites! We got a fondue pot from our registry and love using it to make chocolate fondue for dinner every now and then. We have fun cutting up fruit and things to dip the fondue in, then having a glass of wine and totally “sinning” by eating fondue for dinner. It definitely shakes up the normal weeknight routine. Don’t have a fondue pot? No worries, just heat up chocolate chips with a little milk on the stove, then pour the melted chocolate into a bowl for easy dipping! Our favorite dipping items are: strawberries, blueberries, bananas, marshmallows, Biscoff cookies… and anything that tastes good with chocolate!
Couples massage
We love love love getting couples massages. Spa Sydell here in Atlanta offers great couples massages because you can be in a room with a cut-out in the middle to feel “closer” to your hubby! Also, Treat Your Feet is a new obsession of ours for foot massages. You get an hour long foot massage for only 30 bucks, and you get to chill out in a huge loveseat for an hour. Try not to fall asleep- I dare you!
Re-create your first date
This is a fun date night, which we actually did on our first anniversary. We went to the same place for dinner we had gone on our first date, and talked about how much had changed in a year (like Mr. R being too nervous to eat on our first date, thus leaving me not wanting to pig out in front of him, so I left dinner starving!) Promise this one will be a good one, mostly for the memories 🙂
Dance Classes
I am so excited to try this one out! We are going to our first dance class, a Salsa class, on Sept. 14 with Jess and Samy, our brother and sister-in-law, and I am so so excited! Dancing is obviously romantic to begin with, and Salsa just takes it up to the next level! I’m sure we will go out to dinner before or after, which will make it just an awesome DOUBLE date night!
Take a walk
This one may seem silly and nonsensical, but taking 30 minutes or an hour out of your evening to peel yourselves away from the tv and get out and WALK and TALK can be so relaxing and enjoyable! If you have a nice neighborhood park or nice scenery as you walk, it will make it that much more enjoyable!
Cooking Class
Here’s a new date night we just tried recently and absolutely loved. I would have to say this was one of our best date nights ever! We took a cooking class at The Cook’s Warehouse, where we got to go for two hours and watch a chef prepare a 3 course meal, have drinks, talk and get to meet other couples. It was so much fun, relaxing, and we even learned a lot! Granted, this date night will cost you around $100 depending on where you go, but it was oh-so-worth-it! We got a full dinner, drinks and wine out of it, so I was happy!
Night under the stars
Here’s an awesome date idea I just found on Pinterest and am DYING to try!! One pinner said to blow up a kiddie pool in your back yard, fill it with pillows and blankets and have a cozy night under the stars. How fun does that sound and look!? Obsessed.
I would love to hear your date night ideas, too!
Talk soon,
Amanda
