Ok, this is seriously going to be my favorite post. Sharing our March wedding is one of my favorite pasttimes, whether intentionally or not. Four months later, our house is decorated in wedding pictures, wedding gifts, wedding memories are everywhere. And I love it. I love thinking back on the perfect, rainy, beautiful day that Cele and I said our vows and I became Mrs. Rodriguez. You can read and see more about our big day on our wedding photographer’s site at Kelly Hornberger Photography or by reading this feature in Houston Wedding Blog .
From the moment we got engaged on January 15, 2011 (okay, let’s be honest, before then), we began planning our dream wedding, which we knew included lots of personal touches and DIY projects. We didd so much of our wedding on our own, that I think it was that much sweeter to see everything come to fruition. As you can see here, Cele designed and created (and redid over and over until I was 150% happy) all of our Save the Dates, Invitations, Programs, Table numbers- everything. He was beyond amazing and really set the tone for what the wedding would look and feel like.
Of course we had SO much help, too, from our amazing families and friends. My sisters-in-law Jess, Jaclyn and Suzette helped with the guestbook, ring bearer boxes, favors, etc. My cousin Rebecca helped me plan the wedding and was so great helping to coordinate with all the vendors (seriously- email me for her contact info- she rocks!) My maid of honor, Anna, made the card box for us, and in the days before the wedding we were all crowded in our hotel suite putting the final touches on the flip flop baskets, chalkboard signs, and picture walls.
We were lucky enough to have my Aunt Brenda make our beautiful and DELISH cake! All of our vendors rocked too- Kelly Hornberger Photography, JPL Entertainment, McKnight Videographers, Olive Tree Florists… too many amazing people went into making our day so perfect!
Of course- it stormed for the entire week before the wedding but I was determined to have our fairytale outdoor ceremony.. all the way until 4:45 p.m., when it was still raining and we had to make the call to flip it to an indoor wedding… I didn’t even get to see the set-up before I walked down the aisle. But when the doors opened, it was PERFECT, and being surrounded by my closest family and friends, and seeing my handsome man at the end of the aisle was all that I needed.
I could go on for days. It was amazing. Everything was perfect and happened as it was supposed to, and I will cherish our memories for the rest of my life.
Again- a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who made this day a reality, and to my awesome parents for bringing our dreams to life. We love you all and hope you enjoy these pictures!
Talk soon!
