Hey everyone,

So, now that we are back from Disney World (whew- amazing!!) and summer is here, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want out of my 2-ish months off. We’re going on two week-long vacations, and I’m teaching summer school for a week, so really it’s only about a month of honest-to-goodness free time. But, in that month, I have big goals of what I hope to work on, accomplish, and improve. Because, yes, summer is about relaxing, and hanging with my kids, but it’s also like a little added bonus that we teachers get to refresh and recharge in preparation for what is probably one of the most physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging jobs (in my humble and biased opinion) besides, say, a firefighter? Kidding. But really, this summer, I plan to be very intentional about making myself a better person, wife, mom and teacher… and here’s how:

4 blog jobs

This may not seem like a lot to you bloggy geniuses, but my blog is more of a side thing, so getting 4 partnerships this summer would be awesome.

Potty train Anissa

Lofty, I know, but this is probably my biggest and most important goal. I’m really really hoping we can buckle down after Disney and have her trained by the time we go to the beach in July.

1 playdate per week

I’ll admit, this one is more to make sure I get some adult interaction every now and then, than for the betterment of my kids’ social lives. But hey, kill two birds with one stone 😉

Goal weight 130

After doing 21 Day fix last year, I got down to 130, which was the lowest I’d been since having Anissa. I was in great shape (for me) and then BAM- found out literally THE NEXT DAY that I was pregnant- bye bye goal weight!! Since having Tino, I’m back to 137… so 7 pounds to go this summer should be doable!

Workout 5x per week

I’ve BEEN working out 5-6 days per week, but I’m hoping this one stays- especially since the kids usually nap around the same time- I’m hoping I can get in my workouts every weekday! I’m loving a combo of T25, PiYo, yoga, and weights.

Try 1 new recipe per week

We all know Mr. R is the cook in this fortress, but with me being off, I’d feel too guilty not cooking. Since I’m not much of a chef, one of my goals is to learn to cook better, and try new, interesting recipes!

Have a garage sale

This one’s been festering for a while- with two kids we have so much stuff to sell and I just need to bite the bullet and do it!

Read 3 books

For Mother’s Day, Mr. R got me a Google Tablet and gift cards to the Google Book store! I’ve already gotten Kids are A**holes and Me Before You, so just need to get one more in my queue and curl up with a good book, er, tablet 😉

Learn photography

This one’s my biggie! Recently, I’ve been seeing so many bloggers really up their picture game, and it got me realizing that using my phone to snap product shots or pictures of my kids just isn’t cutting it. I really want to work on lighting, editing, staging and just upping my photography skills, for the blog and for my own personal use.

Welp, that’s it! Hope I’m not biting off more than I can chew or anything 😉 I’ll check back in at the end of the summer to see what I’ve accomplished!!
